Greetings. How do i get rid of this material ''shadow-preview''? I checked the documentation/googled it and couldn't find anything that could tell me what it is or how to turn it off.

Thank you in advance!

Edit. it's like this material ''cloud'' follows me whenever i move the camera and restarting the editor/reloading pc didnt help. anybody?

Edit 2. i found this option and i can change it for example to glass and it gets a little bit better. But there's no ''off'' option there.

However, i don't want a material follow me around. It still disturbs what i see on my screen and it's just killing me. Closing/reloading materials/editors/map/my pc didn't help. Anybody guys ?

Edit 2. The solution offered in the comments section (setting the opacity of the material to 0) did not work, cuz there is still some kinda lighting shadow keeps following you around. And anyways i want to find a way to simply turn that thing off. Lumberyard Devs humbly hope to see you in here <3.

@REDACTEDUSER

What you are seeing is actually not a shadow. It is transition between the detail layer texture and the simplified texture underneath it. If you were using a Megaterrain Texture, you would see this blend into that.

The Detail layer view distance parameter controls the distance from the camera where this transition happens. When set to 0 you would never see the detail layer texture. If you increase this value, to 10, it would draw the detail layer texture further from the camera.

This setting can help with performance because it would not be performant to draw the detail layer textures farther than necessary.

Also, the terrain should always use the Terrain.Layer shader.

I'm not sure if either option is the best way to do it however. Hope this helps.
